"LIFE ON THE HILL"
You have probably already checked out the Hilltop Lakes website at www.hilltoplakes.com and seen all the "Hill" has to offer. Now allow me to elaborate.
Living on the Hill affords one the peace and quiet of country living, in a subdivision atmosphere. Although we are in the country, we are only 45 minutes from Bryan/College Station where we have access to major shopping. However, if we do not have time for a trip into B/CS, we make a quick run into Normangee, which is only 9 miles from the Hill to shop at Westmoreland's country grocery store. Normangee offers beauty shops, barber shop, gasoline, banking, etc.
When living on the Hill, one can stay as busy as one likes, or do as little as one likes. It's up to you. We have a bridge club, cloggers, Lions Club, bingo night, T-38 club (for pilots and anyone interested in flying), 42 club, quilting club, and the list goes on. If you enjoy community service, there is always a need for volunteers with our Fire Department and EMS. Our Interdenominational Church has Stephen's Ministry and there is always a need for help on the golf course.
Unlike some resort communities, Hilltop encourages our grandchildren to visit with a Granny Camp every summer. Granny Camp has activities planned for the kiddos every day for a week which include swimming and free golf lessons. It always precedes July 4th and ends with a golf cart parade and play day which has plenty of other activities for the children to enjoy. It's great fun for old and young!
After reading all this, you may be thinking you do not want to live in a community full of retirees. Never fear, we have plenty of young people on the Hill. Normangee ISD has 3 school buses that run out here delivering our children to and from school in Normangee.
